Beslenme Okuryazarlığı Nedir?

Abstract

Beslenme okuryazarlığı, gıdalar ve beslenmeyle ilgili verilere erişim, analiz yapabilme, doğru karar alıp uygulayabilme, sağlıklı beslenme alışkanlıklarını devam ettirme, gerekli oranlarda sağlıklı gıda seçimi ve tüketimi ve beslenmenin sağlığa olan etkileri konusunda var olan bilgi, yetenek ve davranışların karmasıdır. Toplumlarda, gıda ve beslenme okuryazarlığının öneminin anlaşılması ve yaygın hale gelmesi sağlık, iyilik hali, sağlıklı beslenme ve gıda maddelerinin seçiminin iyileştirilmesi ve sürdürülebilirliğine yardımcı olabilecektir. Bilgi, yetenek ve tutuma odaklanan, dogmalara dayanan ve etkili eğitim metotlarının kullanıldığı beslenme okuryazarlığı programlarının planlanması ve uygulanmasında bütün alanlardan uzmanların iş birliği yapmalarının faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu derleme yazıda, beslenme okuryazarlığı tanımı, hedefi, gerekli yetenek ve okuryazarlığı etkileyen faktörlerin incelenmesi sağlanarak literatüre katkıda bulunması amaçlanmıştır.
