Kahve tüketimi ve bazı hastalıklarla ilişkisi: son yıllarda yapılan insan temelli araştırmaların irdelenmesi

Öz

Kahve
dünyada en çok tüketilen içecekler arasında yer almaktadır. Kahve sağlık
üzerine etkilerini özellikle kahve bileşikleri olan kafein, diterpen alkoller ve
klorojenik asit aracılığı ile gerçekleştirmektedir. Geçmişte yapılan
epidemiyolojik çalışmalarda kahve ve kafein tüketiminin potansiyel olarak
sağlığı olumsuz yönde etkilediği düşülse de, son zamanlarda yapılan araştırma
sonuçları kahve tüketiminin bazı kronik hastalıkların riskini azaltmada etkin
olabileceği görüşü bulunmaktadır. Başlıca etki gösterdiği hastalıklar arasında
kardiyovasküler hastalıklar, hipertansiyon ve aritmi, kanser, osteoporoz ve
diyabet bulunmaktadır. Bu derleme, kahve tüketiminin insan sağlığı üzerine
yararları ve risklerini araştıran çalışmaları incelemek ve yorumlamak amacı ile
yazılmıştır.
