Nörolojik Hastalıklar ve Probiyotik-Prebiyotik Kullanımı

Öz

Probiyotikler; mikrobiyal dengeyi iyileştirerek yararlı etkileri olan mikroorganizmalardır. Prebiyotikler ise; insanlarda sindirim enzimleri tarafından sindirilemeyen ve bazı yararlı bakteri gruplarının aktivitesini seçici olarak geliştiren besinlerdir. Probiyotik tüketiminin, bağışıklık cevabını arttırmak, koloniyi dengelemek, hücrelerin endojen savunma kapasitelerini artırmak gibi birçok olumlu etki gösterdiği bildirilmiştir. Prebiyotiklerin amacı ise probiyotik bakterilerin büyümesini, böylece gastrointestinal ve bağışıklık sistemlerinin geliştirilmesini sağlamaktır. En yaygın olarak kullanılan probiyotik ve prebiyotikler; Lactobacillus ve Bifidobacterium cinsi laktik asit bakterilerdir. Prebiyotikler ise doğal olarak besin maddelerinde bulunmaktadırlar. Birçok hastalığın önlenmesinde probiyotik ve prebiyotikler kullanılmaktadır. Multiple skleroz, alzheimer, migren ve parkinson hastalığı gibi pekçok nörolojik hastalık grubunda da probiyotik ve prebiyotik takviyelerinin olumlu sonuçları görülmektedir.
