Determination of Distribution and Potential Living Areas of Glis glis (Nehring, 1903) (Rodentia: Gliridae) in Kastamonu Province

Öz

The dormouse (Glis glis) is the largest member of the dormouse family belonging to the order Rodentia (Rodents). It is known that the Glis glis has two subspecies as Glis glis orientalis Nehring (1903) in Anatolia and Glis glis pindicus Ondrias (1966) in Thrace. Glis glis which is in the LC (Least Concern) category in the IUCN Red List, has the risk of declining over time due to the effects of humans, predators, wild animals and environmental factors. In this study, the spreading areas of the species in Kastamonu were determined by direct observation methods and the possible distribution areas of the species were modeled and mapped with the maximum entropy approach (MaxEnt). In the light of the data obtained as a result of the modeling, it was seen that the most important bioclimate variables contributing to the formation of the potential distribution model of Glis glis were bio18, bio11, bio1. The AUC value of the habitat suitability model was 0.861.

Glis glis (Nehring, 1903) (Rodentia: Gliridae) Türünün Kastamonu İlindeki Yayılış Gösterdiği Alanların ve Potansiyel Dağılımının Tespit Edilmesi

Öz

Fındık faresi ailesinin en iri üyesi olan yediuyurlar (Glis glis), Rodentia (Kemiriciler) takımına mensup canlılardır. Glis glis türünün Anadolu’da Glis glis orientalis Nehring (1903) ve Trakya’da Glis glis pindicus Ondrias (1966) olmak üzere iki alt türe sahip olduğu bilinmektedir. IUCN Kırmızı Listesinde LC (Asgari Endişe) kategorisinde yer alan Glis glis nesli, zaman içinde insanlar, yırtıcılar, yaban hayvanları ve çevresel faktörlerin de etkisiyle azalma riski taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada Kastamonu’da türün yayılış gösterdiği alanlar doğrudan gözlem yöntemleri ile tespit edilmiş ve türün muhtemel yayılış alanları maksimum entropi yaklaşımı ile (MaxEnt) modellenerek haritalandırılmıştır. Modelleme sonucu elde edilen veriler ışığında Glis glis’in potansiyel dağılım modelinin oluşmasında katkı sağlayan en önemli bioiklim değişkenlerinin bio18, bio11, bio1 olduğu, elde edilen habitat uygunluk modelinin AUC değerinin ise 0,861 olduğu görülmüştür.
