Yıl 2024, Cilt: 8 Sayı: 1, 34 - 41, 19.04.2024

Öz

This descriptive study was aimed to determine the attitudes of nursing students towards the profession and the factors affecting them. Students enrolled in nursing departments in Türkiye constitute the sample. This study was conducted with 297 students who volunteered to participate in the study. The data were collected using “Information Form” and “The Attitude Scale for Nursing Profession”. It was determined that the students who participated in the study had a total score of 161.31±20.44 on the the Attitude Scale for Nursing Profession. Among students, females had a higher scale total score than males (p<0.05). Among the students who participated in the study, those who chose the profession willingly and those who thought of practicing nursing after graduation had a higher total score on the The Attitude Scale for Nursing Profession (p<0.05). There was no significant difference between The Attitude Scale for Nursing Profession and the class and university type in which the students were enrolled, and the status of having a relative who was a health professional (p>0.05). It was determined that the students had positive attitudes towards the profession. It is thought that the study results will provide data to strengthen the attitude towards the nursing profession.
