Abstract

Purpose: In this study, it was aimed to determine cyber dating abuse in young women.
Method: The descriptive study was conducted including 228 female students studying at a state university in the 2023-2024 academic year between 05-31 January 2024. Data were collected with the Personal Information Form and the Cyber Dating Abuse Scale. Data were presented as number, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Independent Groups t test and One-Way ANOVA were used in the comparative analysis of the data.
Results: The average exposure of young women to cyber dating abuse behavior is 29.66±11.32, the average exposure to direct aggression is 12.46±4.67, and the average exposure to monitoring and control is 17.19±8.48. In addition, the average of displaying cyber dating abuse behavior is 29.63±8.78, the average of displaying direct aggression behavior is 12.07±2.25, and the average of displaying monitoring and control behavior is 17.56±7.69. Among young women, those who had previous dating experience had higher average scores on the monitoring control subscale of displaying cyber dating abuse behavior than those who did not, and the difference between the groups was significant (p <0.05).
Conclusion: In the study, it was determined that the scale scores of young women's exposure to cyber dating abuse behavior and displaying cyber dating abuse behavior were similar. Young women with previous dating experience have significantly higher monitoring and control subscale scores. In line with these findings, it can be recommended that nurses and all professionals working with young people organize training programs.

Genç Kadınlarda Siber Flört İstismarının Belirlenmesi

Year 2024, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 12 - 23, 31.03.2024
https://doi.org/10.52369/togusagbilderg.1430933
