İlk baskısı 2022 yılında, ikinci baskısı ise Temmuz 2023 yılında Fihrist Kitap’tan çıkan “Buzdolabı Vatandaşları: Bir Gastronomi Distopyası” gastronomi alanında yazılan ilk roman olma özelliği ile öne çıkmaktadır. Yazar Emre Turan, ilk eseri olan bu kitap ile okuyuculara farklı bir dünya yaratmaktadır. Turan, kitap üzerinde çalışırken, sebze ve meyveleri konuşturarak oluşturduğu metaforlarla bir gastronomi distopyası yaratmayı hedeflemiştir. Bu hedef doğrultusunda yazar, gıdaların tüketicilere ulaşmak için geçirdikleri zorlu yolculuğu ele alarak, distopik bir çürümüşlüğün beraberinde israfın boyutlarını da göz önüne sermektedir.
Uzmanlığı olan gastronomi alanında, bir gastronomi distopyası oluşturarak okuyucularda bir bilinç oluşturmayı amaçlayan Emre Turan, bir yandan da okuyucuları bazı sorularla baş başa bırakmaktadır. Bu sorular aslında kitabın yazılmasına da yön veren ve son yıllarda her alanda popüler bir kavram haline gelen “sürdürülebilirlik” ile ilgilidir. Yazar Turan, temelde kendi içinde de çatıştığı “Gelecek nesiller geçmişte lezzetli yemeğin arayışında olup gıdayı israf eden ya da buna göz yuman insanlar yüzünden aç veya lezzetsiz kalacaklar mı?” sorusuna da cevap aramaktadır. Fakat bu konuda çok da pozitif olmayan ve “Gastronomi, doyarken ve doyururken gıdayı korumaktır.” fikrini savunan Turan, Buzdolabı Vatandaşları ile “Sürdürülebilir bir gelecek mümkün mü?” diyerek okuyucuları aslında biraz da vicdani kaygılarla varoluşu da sorgulamaya itmektedir.

"Refrigerator Citizens: A Gastronomy Dystopia", whose first edition was published in 2022 and the second edition was published in Fihrist Kitap in July 2023, stands out as the first novel written in the field of gastronomy. Author Emre Turan creates a different world for readers with this book, which is his first work. While working on the book, Turan aimed to create a gastronomy dystopia with the metaphors he created by making vegetables and fruits talk. In line with this goal, the author addresses the difficult journey that food goes through to reach consumers, revealing the dimensions of waste along with a dystopian decay.
Emre Turan, who aims to raise awareness in the readers by creating a gastronomy dystopia in his field of expertise, gastronomy, also leaves the readers with some questions. These questions are actually related to "sustainability", which guided the writing of the book and has become a popular concept in every field in recent years. Writer Turan basically has a conflict with himself: "Will future generations remain hungry or tasteless because of people who were in search of delicious food in the past and wasted food or turned a blind eye to it?" It also seeks an answer to the question. However, there is a not-so-positive statement on this subject: "Gastronomy is preserving food while filling and satiating." Turan, who defends his idea, talked to Refrigerator Citizens about "Is a sustainable future possible?" By saying this, he actually pushes the readers to question existence with some conscientious concerns.
