KADIN SAĞLIĞINDA PROBİYOTİKLERİN ROLÜ

Year 2023, Volume: 4 Issue: Kongre Özel, 66 - 88, 18.09.2023

Abstract

Amaç: Probiyotikler, insan sağlığı üzerinde faydalı etkileri olan canlı mikroorganizmalardır. Probiyotiklerin, birçok hastalığın önlenmesi ve tedavisinde olumlu etkileri bulunmaktadır. Başlıca bağırsak hastalıklarının tedavisinde ve bağırsak sağlığının sürdürülmesinde öne çıkan probiyotiklerin, son yıllarda kadın sağlığının korunması ve kadın hastalıklarının tedavi edilmesi üzerindeki etkilerine odaklanılmıştır. Literatürde, probiyotiklerin kadın üreme sistemi üzerindeki etkilerine dair artan kanıtlar bulunmaktadır.
Yöntem: Bu çalışmada, probiyotiklerin kadın sağlığı üzerinde etkisini ortaya koyan güncel bilimsel kanıtlar, ulusal ve uluslararası veri tabanlarında literatür araştırması yapılarak derlenmiştir.
Bulgular: Yapılan literatür incelemesi sonucunda, probiyotiklerin genel kadın sağlığının devamlılığında ve özellikle kadın üreme sistemi üzerinde olumlu etkileri olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sağlıklı kadın üreme sistemi mikrobiyotasında Lactobacilluslar yaygındır. Lactobasiller, vajinal ortamda pH’ı düşürerek patojenik mikroorganizmaların büyümesini engelleyerek vajinal sağlığın korunmasını sağlamaktadır. Vajinal mikrobiyota kadın sağlığının önemli bir belirleyicisidir ve vajinal mikrofloradaki bozulmalar; bakteriyel vajinoz, rahim ağzı kanseri, vulvovajinal kandidiyazis, gestasyonel diabetes mellitus, polikistik over sendromu, postmenapozal osteoporoz, meme kanseri, jinekolojik kanserler ve postpartum depresyon gibi kadınlara özgü hastalıklarla ilişkilendirilmektedir. Adet döngüsü, gebelik, emziklilik, cinsel uygulamalar, antibiyotik kullanımı, doğuma ilişkin durumlar ve cinsel yolla bulaşan hastalıklar vajinal mikroorganizma dengesinin bozulmasına neden olan faktörlerdir.
Sonuç: Probiyotikler, vajinal mikro ortamın stabilitesini korumada, gebelik komplikasyonlarının iyileştirilmesinde, postpartum dönemde gelişebilen sağlık sorunlarının tedavi edilmesinde ve genel kadın sağlığının korunmasında önemli rol oynamaktadır.

THE ROLE OF PROBIOTICS IN WOMEN'S HEALTH

Year 2023, Volume: 4 Issue: Kongre Özel, 66 - 88, 18.09.2023

Abstract

Purpose: Probiotics are living microorganisms that provide health benefits for humans. Positive effects of probiotics have been found in the prevention and treatment of many diseases. Probiotics are prominent primarily in maintaining intestinal health and preventing intestinal diseases. In recent years, the focus has been on the effects of probiotics on the protection of women's health and the treatment of gynecological diseases. There is increasing evidence in the literature of the effects of probiotics on the female reproductive system. In this study, it was aimed to review scientific evidence on the effects of probiotics on the protection of women's health and the treatment of women-specific diseases.
Methods: In this study, current scientific evidence, revealing the effect of probiotics on women's health, was compiled by reviewing the national and international literature.
Results: As a result of the literature review, it was determined that probiotics have positive effects on the continuity of general women's health and, in particular, on the effects on the female reproductive system. In the microbiota of the healthy female reproductive system, Lactobacillus species are prevalent. Lactobacillus bacterias reduce pH in the vaginal environment, preventing the growth of pathogenic microorganisms and ensuring the protection of vaginal health. The vaginal microbiota is a crucial determinant of women’s health. Deteriorations in the vaginal microflora are associated with diseases specific to women as bacterial vaginosis, cervical cancer, vulvovaginal candidiasis, gestational diabetes mellitus, polycystic over syndrome, postmenopausal osteoporosis, breast cancer, gynecological cancers and postpartum depression. Menstrual cycle, pregnancy, lactation, sexual habits, using antibiotic drugs, conditions related to childbirth, and sexually transmitted diseases are factors that cause disruption of the balance of vaginal microorganisms.
Conclusion: Probiotics play an important role to protect the stability of microbial areas, heal to pregnancy complications, treat to undesirable health problems that emerged in the postpartum term, and protect the general woman’s wellness.
