SİNOP ARKEOLOJİ MÜZESİ’NDEN İKİ MERMER KAP ÜZERİNE ÖN GÖZLEMLER

Abstract

Sinop
Müzesi envanterinde kayıtlı iki adet taş kap bu makalenin konusunu teşkil
etmektedir. Farklı dönemlerde, farklı yollardan kontekst dışı olacak şekilde
Müze envanterine kazandırılmış olan her iki kap da mermer olmaları ile dikkat
çekmektedir. Her ne kadar özelde farklı amaçlar için tasarlanmış olsalar da
genel kullanım bağlamında iki kabın da ölü gömme ile alakalı olarak kullanılmak
üzere yapıldığı anlaşılmaktadır. Kaplardan
ilki urne amaçlı kullanılmak üzere üretilmiş olan bir hydria, ikincisi ise oldukça kötü olan korunma durumuna rağmen bir
mezar lekythosu olarak tanımlanabilmektedir.
Mermer kapların her ikisi de bizlere formları, üretim amaçları, kullanım alanları
ve yaklaşık tarihlerini saptamaya yetecek kadar bilgi sunmaktadır. Bu bağlamda
özellikle hydria “Hadra Vazoları”na
olan form benzerliği ile dikkat çekerken lekythosun
Attik mermer lekythosları arasına
yerleştirilebileceği görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, bahsi geçen iki mermer kap formları
bakımından değerlendirilip etraflıca tanımlanacak ardından da tespit edilmiş
olan benzerleri ile karşılaştırılarak kullanım alanları hakkında sağlıklı
verilere ulaşılmaya çalışılacaktır.
