HOROZLARDA SEMİNAL PLAZMA LİPİD PEROKSİDASYONU VE EKSTRASELÜLER ANTİOKSİDANLAR İLE BAZI SPERMATOLOJİK ÖZELLİKLER ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİLER

Abstract

ÖZET

Bu çalışmada horozlarda seminal plazmadaki lipid peroksidasyonunun göstergesi olan malondialdehit (MDA), ekstraseluler antioksidanlardan seruloplazmin ve ürik asit düzeyleri ile sperma yoğunluğu, ölü-canlı spermatozoon oranı ve toplam anormal spermatozoon oranları arasındaki ilişkinin saptanması amaçlanmıştır.

Çalışmada toplam 24 sperma örnegi analiz edilmiştir. Bu örnekler 10 horozdan 3 gün arayla 3 kez kloakanın masajı yöntemi ile elde edilmiştir. Sperma örneklerinde yoğunluk, ölü ve canlı spermatozoon oranı ve toplam anormal spermatozoon oranı ile seminal plazmalarda MDA, seruloplazmin ve ürik asit düzeyleri belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar basit korelasyon analizi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Ortalama seminal plazma seruloplazmin konsantrasyonu ile toplam anormal spermatozoon oranı arasında istatistiksel açıdan onemli (r= 0,543, p<0.05) pozitif korelasyon bulunurken diğer parametreler arasında istatistiksel önemde bir ilişkiye rastlanmamıştır.

ABSTRACT

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SEMINAL PLASMA LIPID PEROXIDATION AND EXTRACELLULER ANTIOXIDANTS WITH SOME SPERMATOLOGICAL FEATURES IN COCK SEMEN.

In this study, we aimed to determine the relationship between MDA levels in seminal plasma that indicates lipid peroxidation and sperm concentrations of extracellular antioxidants such as ceruloplasmin and uric acid, with rates of alive and dead spermatozoa and the spermatozoa morphology in cocks.

24 semen specimens were analysed in this study. These samples were obtained from ten cocks by cloacal stimulation within 15 days period. MDA, ceruloplasmin and uric acid levels was measured in seminal plasma and sperm concentration, rates of alive and dead spermatozoa and morphology in semen specimen. Results were investigated with basic correlation analyses. Statistically significant positive correlation (r= 0.543. p<0.05) was determined between mean seminal plasma ceruloplasmin concentration with spermatozoon morphology; however no significant correlation between other parameters were determined.
