İNGİLTERE ÜNİVERSİTELERİNDE ARAPÇA ÖĞRETİMİ

Abstract

Orta
Doğu çalışmaları, modern yabancı diller ve İslami çalışmalar, İngiltere
hükümetince yükseköğretimde stratejik olarak önemli kabul edilmiştir. Arapça
eğitimi, İngiltere'de uzun bir geçmişe sahip olup 1600'lü yıllara
dayanmaktadır. İngiliz Konseyi, öğrenilmesi gereken diller listesinde Arapçayı
ikinci sıraya yerleştirerek Arapçanın ekonomik, sosyal ve politik nedenlerle
öğrenilmesini teşvik etmektedir.

Üniversite
dil merkezlerinde Arapça okuma, konuşma, yazma ve anlama becerilerini geliştirmek
için, ders öncesi hazırlık ve ders sonrası takip çalışmalarını içeren
aktivitelere yer verilmektedir. Bazı faaliyetler ise Self-Access Center'daki materyallerle
yapılmaktadır.





"İngiltere
Üniversitelerinde Arapça Öğretimi" adlı çalıma ile yapılan alan
araştırması ve gözlem neticesinde İngiltere yükseköğretiminde okutulmakta olan
Arapçanın genel anlamda bir çerçevesi çizilmektedir.
