SPORTİF PERFORMANSTA EL-EL BİLEĞİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİNE ÇOK YÖNLÜ YAKLAŞIM

Year 2019, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 118 - 134, 30.09.2019

Abstract

Bilgi

MULTI-DIRECTIONAL APPROACH TO EVALUATION OF HAND-WRIST IN SPORTIVE PERFORMANCE

Year 2019, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 118 - 134, 30.09.2019

Abstract

Being defined as the organ of
knowledge and ability, hand not only performs a number of functions in our
daily life activities, but also affects performance of sportsmen from various
sports branches. The aim of this review is both to draw attention to the
evaluation of the hand-wrist in parameters that are important in athletic performance
and to introduce the methods which are used in hand-wrist is evaluated. The
studies were analyzed which hand-wrist were evaluated in parameters that are
important in athletic performance, as a result of in these studies were found
to be used hand dynamometers for hand grip strength; caliper, photography
techniques, digital compass, digital radiography, paper drawing for hand
anthropometric measurements; DEXA (Dual-energy X-ray absorptiomentry) for
forearm bone mineral density; EMG (Electromyography) for muscle capacity;
computer games tests for hand reaction time; Finger-Tapping Test for hand
dexterity-coordination. İnspected publications were obtained that training and
practice time affected hand grip strength; hand grip strength and hand anthropometric
measurements affected playing ability; hand grip strength affected radial bone
mineral density; there were sport-specific differences in sportsman's hand
anthropometric measurements and hand grip strength; sportsmen differed from
non-sportsmen in muscle capacity; the dominant hand of sportsman was
determinant in hand reaction time and hand dexterity-coordination. Therefore,
it may be important to evaluate the hand-wrist in determining the performance
of the athlete. However, there are few studies about on this topic in the
literature. We think that our review will be guiding because of in the
literature will be needed the studies with larger sports groups and sample
numbers and new assessment methods.
