Obez bireylerde iki farklı yöntemle hesaplanan vücut yağ oranının antropometrik değerler ve lipid parametreleri ile ilişkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı obez kişilerde iki farklı yöntemle belirlenen vücut yağ oranının antropometrik ve lipid parametrelerle olan ilişkisini incelemektir.

Gereç ve yöntemler: Sakarya Üniversitesi Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Aile Hekimliği Kliniği’nde takip edilen 40 obez veya morbid obez hasta (15 erkek, 25 kadın; ort. yaş 41.6±13.2 yıl; dağılım 18-65 yıl) çalışmaya alındı. Toplam vücut yağ oranı biyoelektrik impedans analizi (BİA) ve vücut kütle indeksi (VKİ) ile değerlendirildi.

Bulgular: Ortalama VKİ 35.9±5.2 kg/m2 idi ve 10 katılımcı (%25) morbid obez idi. Çalışmaya katılanların ortalama vücut yağ yüzdesi 38.7±8.0 idi. Bu oran kadınlarda %42.6±5.8 ve erkeklerde %31.6±6.4 idi (z= -3.921; p=0.000). Boy ve kilo değerleri VKİ ile korelasyon gösterirken, bel çevresi göstermemekteydi. Öte yandan hiçbir antropometrik .l.üm BİA ile korelasyon göstermemekteydi. Biyokimyasal parametrelerden hiçbiri VKİ ile korelasyon göstermemekteydi. Sadece HDL-kolesterol değerleri BIA ile anlamlı korelasyon göstermekteydi.

Sonuç: Kardiyovasküler hastalıklar için karın bölgesi yağ dokusu önemli risk faktörlerinden bir olmasına karşın her iki teknikte bel çevresi ile korelasyon gösterilememiştir. Öte yandan herhangi bir biyokimyasal parametrede (BİA için HDL-kolesterol hariç) vücut yağ oranı ile korelasyon göstermemektedir.
