Qualitative Studies at Nursing Researches: An Example of Case Study

Year 2013, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 26 - 31, 03.07.2013

Abstract

It is obvious that researchers have been using qualitative research designs more in recent years. It can be assessed that the incrase is the result of that approaches’ -except positivist paradigms- “scientific” quality be accepted more commonly. Because the aim of qualitative researches is to comprehend and identify the reality as it is, these researches focus on “what” and “how” questions. Case studies, which are the most commonly used ones among qualitative researches, ensure to set forth creative studies and new findings. Case studies that are used in nursing, examination of population, training of nurses, professions, help nurses in the understanding of some phonemena in the frame of real life. While the case study is identified for the reader at this study, it is tried to be answered where, why and how it is used in nursing. The main aim of the article is to put forth the contribution of case study, which is a qualitative research method, to the nursing. The example of case study which requires multiple analysis methods, is considered as an appropriate way of working for the nurses who have a holistic attitude.

HEMŞİRELİK ARAŞTIRMALARINDA NİTELİKSEL ÇALIŞMALAR: DURUM ÇALIŞMASI ÖRNEĞİ

Year 2013, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 26 - 31, 03.07.2013
