Abstract

The science of fiqh is a branch of science that has a very broad framework in terms of content. For this reason, many works have been written as an introduction to the science of fiqh. These works are used by those who want to have basic knowledge of fiqh, as well as as reference works in the Introduction to Islamic Law course, which is included in the curriculum of the Faculties of Theology and Faculties of Islamic Sciences. It is possible to say that the primary target of Introduction to Islamic Law books written in Turkish is undergraduate students. When the books published under the title Introduction to Islamic Law are examined, it is seen that their subject contents are different. We evaluated the content of Prof. Dr. Saffet Köse's Introduction to Islamic Law book offers very useful information for those who want to become familiar with fiqh issues at the beginning level. However, when this book is evaluated as a resource for the Introduction to Islamic Law course, it is seen that there are subjects (judgment, qualification, maslaha, sharia evidence) that cause repetition in the course curriculum. After the evaluation of the Introduction to Islamic Law book, a content proposal was presented for the books that will serve as a resource for the Introduction to Islamic Law Course in the undergraduate education curriculum.
